Paul’s letter picks up all these concerns—the gospel, the need for teaching, the interaction of Christians with one another and the church with the world—and he reminds us of the spiritual warfare in which we are involved, not only as people become part of the church, but as we seek to remain as the church. We have much to learn. In the light of Paul’s experience in Asia Minor, his letter to the Ephesians may well have been designed to be circulated around the churches in
